CHAOS IN ORDER

For AW2024, Chén Sifān presented “Chaos in Order”, a collection intended to express a timid outburst behind rationality and restraint.
Misplaced pockets were placed on the shoulders like brooches, a splash of red to break the calmness of formal wear, and the delicate and almost perfect structure of the garments was broken by waistbands in faded red patent leather.
This season the brand added a more uniform and formal element to symbolize a certain order and discipline.
In terms of craftsmanship, Chén Sifān approached the garments with an almost serious attitude, which made the visual presentation seem even calmer on the surface.
The color “red” was an important element of the show, linking the stories together. Chén Sifān described it as ‘sensual sensuality’, which is like an emotion, like a force waiting to be released that is gradually spiraling out of control like entropy, and finally released.
In our social context, the definition of masculinity is still in a binary, where men are expected to be strong and sober, where any moment of vulnerability and sensuality is not allowed. However, this collection is Chén Sifān's ode to real human nature, which celebrates the flow of human nature like a warm ocean current, and celebrates the contradictions of masculini- ty, which are also part of Chén Sifān's aesthetic.
“Contradictions” are also part of Chén Sifān's aesthetics, “Rationality” and ‘sensibility’, ‘sophistication’ and ‘coarseness’, ‘fragility’ and ‘strength’ are all mixed together in this presentation, which seems to be chaotic but is exceptionally calm.
